31 Gifts

I’m sure most of you have heard of 31 Gifts. They’re a catalog company that’s pretty popular with the ladies. I have a friend who just joined as a consultant and I’m having a catalog/online party.

Christmas is fast approaching (umm, where did October go?!) and it’s not too early to knock some of your shopping out of the way from the comfort of your keyboard. I actually ordered a Christmas present for my niece back in August when I went to a 31 party hosted by the same friend. Shipping was much faster than I expected – so you’ll definitely have your items in time for the holidays. I know lots of moms are in love with this stuff and the quality is really high (with some great prints to choose from, too). Favorite Things: EyeFi

One of my Christmas gifts this past year was a 4GB EyeFi SD card. This memory card is configured on my home’s wireless network. When I take pictures with my camera, the card automatically transfers them to my laptop {if it’s on} and to any number of configured online photo sites. This means no more hunting for a USB cable or going to the closet to retrieve my card reader from the camera bag.

As you’re snapping away, the card automatically starts transferring your photos. Once it’s done transferring any new photos, you can configure EyeFi to notify you via email, SMS, twitter, or facebook. Here you can see an email that was just sent to my gmail.

This is a tech gadget that I’m starting to wonder how I lived without. Do you have a piece of technology that helps make your life easier?

Review: Lola, by Epiphanie

Now that I’ve had Lola for about two months, I figured I owed you an update. Basically, I love this bag.

It easily holds everything that I need when I want to take my camera out on the town. I have:

• Canon Rebel XSi with 50mm 1.8 lens attached
• 17-85mm lens
• 85-200mm lens
• Battery charger
• Filters
• Memory cards
• Memory card reader
• Lightscoop
• Wallet
• Headphones
• Chapstick
• iPhone

On top of all of this, there is still plenty of room to pile in extras if needed. It really is huge. I’m not used to carrying such a large bag, so it throws me off some times when I’m trying to get in the car with the bag still on my shoulder. The fabric is faux-leather, but it’s high quality. Some people can’t believe that it isn’t real leather.

So if you’re in the market for a camera bag that can double as a purse, save up your cash and get yourself an Epiphanie.

Belle Fleur

I just recently got some china, silver, and crystal from my mother. I’ve loved this china since I was little, seeing as my favorite color has always been blue. I’m so excited to finally use the china cabinet for its intended purpose. I think everything looks great in there.

The china is Wedgwood. The pattern is Belle Fleur. It’s discontinued, but you can still find pieces on the Internet if we ever decide to add to the collection.

I can’t remember the name of the crystal, but we’ve got water goblets, white and red wine glasses.

We also got some place settings of silver. It’s Old Master by Towle.

It all needs to be polished, but that’s a task for another day.

We didn’t register for any china for our wedding, so I’m excited to have something other than our basic white Crate & Barrel every day stuff. Do you have any china? Do you use it often, or are you too nervous to eat off it it?
