Master Bedroom :: The Before

Over the weekend we bought a bed for the master bedroom. It’s a classic four-poster bed and it should be delivered sometime in the next 2-3 weeks. I wanted to take you on a little virtual tour of the bedroom as it is today.

The new bed is the first {furniture} purchase we’ve made for this room since college when Matt bought a dresser & nightstand for his first post-collge apartment. We will be S-L-O-W-L-Y adding new pieces to this room as our budget allows. But here is phase 1 : The Before.
We’re at the top of the stairs and have turned to our right. We’re looking into the Master Bedroom.

Now I’m going to poorly simulate standing in the middle of the room and turning. We’re going to start off facing the bed and then turn to the left {counter-clockwise}.

And now we’ve gone full circle. I’m formulating a “plan” for this room and I’ll post that as soon as it’s semi-formulated. But who knows, the whole thing might change as soon as the bed is in place!

Have you tackled your Master Bedroom?  Do you have a full set of “adult” furniture? Or are you getting by with a hodge-podge of hand-me-downs and inexpensive post-college buys like we have been?

  1. We are in the same place. John’s old childhood dresser, two mismatched nightstands (one is a vintage icebox type thing I grabbed from the street) and a mattress set on a frame. I had a post-college ikea head/footboard but after 4 years it collapsed. I love all the windows you have. And the her’s and his’s walk-ins, in-suite bathroom?!?! So lucky!
